7 Successful Tips to Networking


In an effort to include all of our members and guests PSA will be delivering their November and December event both live and online. On November 5th you can choose to join us in person as George Murray gives his presentation or join us webcast from 7:45 – 9:15 a.m. See below for details and registration:

The time is now to get out from behind your desk, begin to visit your customers and meet with other likely prospects. Yes, you are free to start networking again! Could it be that you are a little rusty in your networking skills or have you never felt very comfortable with meeting new people. Whatever the case, this is the presentation you want to attend. While there is no great mystery to networking, developing a strategy will make you more effective. In this presentation you will learn:

  • How to best define networking
  • Why being an introvert or extrovert doesn’t matter
  • To prepare your network pipeline and target industries or companies
  • How to express you value proposition and worth
  • About your “Ask” and how to help others
  • A process for follow up and how to remain Top-of-Mind
  • How to create your own “Personal Board of Advisors”

 

George is an award-winning author with his first book, Hired: Cut Your Career Search Time in Half. It is based on his own experience—when he found himself facing two job transitions in less than three years. From both his military training and operations background, he learned that career transition also has a process. He became a student, listening, taking copious notes, and asking vital questions of the many people he met.

George started his career in the US Army serving in 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, additionally in Wurzburg, Germany, and Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq in Support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He credits this experience with his leadership training, positive attitude through adversity, and his ability to overcome major obstacles. In addition, George has 25 years in Global Operations & Supply Chain managing and working in four industries: Automotive, Contract Electronic Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, and Capital Equipment Manufacturing. He has had three overseas  assignments (Germany, Thailand & China) that has increased his knowledge of global & diversified cultures. George is passionate about helping individuals and businesses become better.
